SCCSCMUN took part in the Manila Xiamen International School’s MUNOX2021 conference from December 3rd to December 5th. The MUNOX2021 conference had 200 delegates from different international schools. This was a monumental achievement for MUNOX2021 as they had never had so many delegates attend. Students participated in four MUN committees discussing topics ranging from human rights abuses in Afghanistan to piracy in the Gulf of Guinea.
The committees were:
1.United Nations Security Council (UNSC)
2.United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC)
3.United National General Assembly (UNGA)
4.United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC)
Our SCCSCMUN delegates were able to experience global problems through simulation as UN representatives from countries such as The United Kingdom, Afghanistan, Germany, Libya, and South Africa.
The experience allowed our students to see the challenges of diplomacy first-hand in coming to an agreement on what the problems are and then finding common solutions to which countries can agree.
The lesson of building consensus among people was immediately learned as they realized others in the committees were talking about the issue in a completely different way. Conflict resolution was a major skill learned by our delegates especially in the UNGA and UNSC. Heated debates around the final resolutions were especially harder due to the differing opinions by delegates.
Our students worked effectively during the conference and successfully won numerous awards.
In the UNGA committee, our students impressed the Secretary-General with their critical thinking and innovative solutions. These students were:

In the HRC committee, our students excelled in creating country blocs and facilitating resolutions that articulated the humanitarian policies that these countries had. One delegate excelled in this:

As the president of SCCSCMUN, Zhang Qijin led the club to victory as they won the Best Delegation Award.
Overall, participating in MUN conferences allows our students the space to implement international mindedness, a key skill they learn at our school. By interacting with other students, our students build their networks through knowledge sharing and participation. Not only do our students improve their speaking and debate capabilities, but also their soft skills in communication, human relations, and empathy.
Among those who were there, they have expressed the feeling that MUN is a great opportunity for their English abilities, provides academic rigour, and is a tremendous opportunity for them to build further understanding of humanity.
Their experience and growth will aid them in all their future endeavors as global citizens.

我校学生代表参加厦门国际学校模联会议取得优异成绩
深圳（南山）中加学校模联社团（SCCSC MUN） 17名学生代表于12月3-5日参加了马尼拉厦门国际学校的2021模联会议。MUNOX 2021会议有来自不同国际学校的200名代表，讨论的话题非常广泛，从阿富汗的侵犯人权到几内亚湾的海盗行为等等。
我校学生代表通过模拟来自英国、阿富汗、德国、利比亚和南非等国的联合国代表，亲身体验并参与讨论了全球性问题。这一宝贵的经历让我校学生能够亲眼目睹外交的挑战，学会找到各国能够达成一致的共同解决方案。这些经历也必将为我校学生走向世界奠定一定的基础。
