The annual Sustainable Development Goals Speech Contest was held at SCCSC on May 29th, 2024. This is the second year that the contest has taken place.
比赛展示了17名学生选择的与17个SDG目标相关的主题，例如优质教育、性别平等和气候变化。学生对这些目标及其可持续性进行了批判性审视，特别是我离2030年越来越近。学生还询问观众对这些目标的了解程度，并详细说明人们如何参与可以使这些目标在我们的社区中可持续达成。
The contest showcased 17 students who chose topics related to the 17 SDG goals such as Quality Education, Gender Equality, and Climate Change. Students critically examined the goals and their sustainability, especially as we approach 2030. Students also questioned the audience about their knowledge of the goals and detailed how people can get involved in making the goals sustainable in our communities.
学生们传达了对全球的责任感和对为实现这些目标所作努力的赞赏，强调了需要在每个目标上建立人们积极参与的能力。引用政府政策和项目，学生们表达了各国政府集体行动是实现2030年目标的唯一途径。
Resonating global responsibility and appreciation for the efforts being made to achieve the goals, students articulated the need to build capacity on each goal for people to actively take part. Quoting government policies and programs, students expressed collective action of governments globally as the only way to achieve these goals by 2030.
比赛评委布拉德利·菲利普斯表示，“学生们的演讲非常出色，对他们选择的主题充满激情。他们展示了世界面临的问题，并提出了可能的解决方案。”
Contest judge, Bradley Philips, stated that “students had great presentations and were passionate about the topics they chose. They showed the problems that the world is facing and presented possible solutions.”
